Merge babies to evolve them from Mystery Egg to Ultimate Dragon!
Slide and merge matching babies on a 4×4 board to evolve them through 11 stages — from Mystery Egg to Ultimate Dragon! Two game modes, swipe or keyboard controls, fun for all ages.
Why babies instead of numbers? Everyone has played the number version to death; swapping the skin makes it fresh again. More than that, hatching from an egg and evolving all the way to a dragon is a story with visible progress, which children connect with far more readily than 2 to 4 to 8. These babies also turn up in our other work — one shared world, expressed through different kinds of play.
Where did Easy mode come from? It is not a "simple mode for little kids". It came from noticing a side effect of the classic rule. The original says no new tile unless something moved, which sounds perfectly reasonable — but in practice it means the only way to get a new baby is to move, and any move risks lifting your biggest baby out of its corner, after which it can never go back. Once a tile drops even when nothing moved, players gain the option to wait in place; the difficulty falls away and the Ultimate Dragon becomes far easier to summon. Both modes stayed because they are two different pleasures: Standard tests every trade-off, Easy lets you focus on building a beautiful structure.
📖 How to Play
1
Goal: Summon the Ultimate Dragon
On a 4x4 board, slide two identical babies together and they merge into the next stage. Start from the Mystery Egg and keep merging until the Ultimate Dragon appears — that's the win.
2
Controls: Four Directions
Swipe up, down, left or right on phone and tablet; use the arrow keys on desktop. Every baby slides toward that direction and identical pairs along the way merge. One swipe moves the entire board — that is the single most important thing to understand.
3
Two Modes: Standard and Easy
Standard follows the classic rule: a new tile appears only when a swipe actually moves something. Easy drops a new tile on every input, even when nothing on the board moved. The difference looks tiny but changes the game a lot — the reason is in Design Notes below.
4
Win Condition: Two Eternal Dragons
Reaching the 🐉 Eternal Dragon (1024) triggers a notice, but that is not the win yet — you need a second Eternal Dragon, and merging the two into the 🌟 Ultimate Dragon (2048) is the actual clear. The game ends when the board is full with no merges left.

🏆 Strategy Guide
1
Pick a corner and never leave it
Keep your biggest baby locked in one corner (most players pick bottom-right) and only swipe in directions that keep it there. This is the most basic and most effective rule in any 2048-style game — mastering just this one takes you far.
2
Line the big ones up, tail the small ones behind
Once the corner is second nature, order your bottom row from the corner outward, largest to smallest, then run the next row back the other way — a snake. Big babies end up adjacent, so merges chain instead of stranding two giants at opposite ends of the board.
3
Never swipe up when your biggest is at the bottom
One wrong swipe lifts your biggest baby out of its corner, and usually it never gets back — a new tile immediately drops into the spot it left. Keeping the structure intact always beats squeezing in one more merge; picture the board after the swipe before you make it.
4
Easy mode only: use a dead swipe to wait for tiles
This one only works in Easy. In Standard, the only way to get a new baby is to actually move the board — and that move is often the very one that wrecks your corner. Because Easy drops a tile even when nothing moves, you can deliberately swipe into a wall, collect a free baby, and leave your structure untouched. For reliably reaching the Ultimate Dragon, this beats every other trick.
